Classification: Normal
Creatinine 1.1 mg/dL is normal for most adults — though it can already reflect mildly reduced function in a smaller or older person.
Creatinine is a waste product produced by muscle breakdown and filtered by the kidneys. It is the most common blood test for kidney function — a rising creatinine usually means falling filtration.
A standard blood test (part of the basic metabolic panel). No fasting required, but heavy exercise, creatine supplements, and a large meat meal the day before can raise it.
Reference: Reference ranges per major laboratories (Labcorp/Quest adult ranges); interpretation per KDIGO CKD guideline • Normal range: 0.7-1.3 mg/dL (adult; varies with muscle mass)
