Also known as: नारियल पानी
Coconut water is extremely high in potassium for a beverage — ~600 mg per cup (250 mg/100g). A single glass can push a dialysis patient's daily potassium allowance over the limit and trigger dangerous hyperkalemia. It also contains moderate sodium (105 mg/100g). Coconut water should be avoided in CKD stages 4-5 and dialysis; limit strictly in stages 1-3.
Values are approximate, based on USDA FoodData Central and ICMR-NIN Indian Food Composition Tables. Actual values vary by variety, ripeness, serving size, and cooking method. The database rating is a general reference, not an individualized diet recommendation.
1 cup (240mL) — always count this toward your daily potassium, phosphorus, and (on dialysis) fluid budget.
